Why should I share Jesus?

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

- Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)

"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

- Romans 10:14-15 (NIV)

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

- Acts 1:8 (NIV)

“My people have been lost sheep; their shepherds have led them astray and caused them to roam on the mountains. They wandered over mountain and hill and forgot their own resting place. Whoever found them devoured them; their enemies said, ‘We are not guilty, for they sinned against the Lord, their verdant pasture, the Lord, the hope of their ancestors.’ Flee out of Babylon; leave the land of the Babylonians, and be like the goats that lead the flock. For I will stir up and bring against Babylon an alliance of great nations from the land of the north. They will take up their positions against her, and from the north she will be captured. Their arrows will be like skilled warriors who do not return empty-handed. So Babylonia will be plundered; all who plunder her will have their fill,” declares the Lord.

- Jeremiah 50:6-10 (NIV)

You have chosen personally to accept and receive God's gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. This is the single greatest gift you will ever receive in your life. No other gifts will ever compare. If you haven't yet truly grasped the profound impact of this gift, take the time you need to truly appreciate this gift. When you do, you will be able to answer the question above...why should I share Jesus?

Actions You Can Take

1. Pray for opportunities to share Jesus. Ask God to create moments where you can naturally share Jesus. Pray for courage and clarity when the opportunity comes. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your words when talking about Christ.

2. Meditate on key gospel scriptures - 1 Peter 3:15 – "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." Memorize a few key verses so you feel prepared to share. Reflect on your personal testimony and how Jesus has changed your life. Be ready to explain the Gospel in a way that fits everyday conversations.

3. Devote quality time to looking for ways you can apply God's word. Applying God's word helps us grow spiritually, physically, and mentally. For example, a muscle that is exercised will become stronger. Unused muscles, however, get weaker and flabby. Muscles, like you, only have 2 choices: They Grow stronger or they grow weaker. Which muscle are you or do you want to be?

4. Share the Gospel in Small, Simple Ways "Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you." - Mark 5:19

Start by sharing small testimonies of how God has impacted your life. Engage in natural faith conversations with friends, family, or co-workers. Offer to pray for someone - it's a simple way to open the door to sharing Jesus.

4. Read more (of the bible). Pray more. Love more (of your neighbors). Serve more.

Why be brave for Jesus?

"For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God."

- 2 Timothy 1:7-8 (NIV)

“Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.”

- Matthew 10:32-33 (NIV)

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

- Matthew 10:32-33 (NIV)

Actions You Can Take

1. Pray for Boldness and Strength - "Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness." Ask God to remove fear and replace it with courage. Pray daily for boldness to share Jesus in conversations. Trust that the Holy Spirit will empower you in moments of hesitation." - Acts 4:29

2. Remember Who You Represent - "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline." Remind yourself that you carry the message of eternal life. When fear creeps in, focus on Jesus' power, not your own ability. Live unashamed of the Gospel—boldness comes from knowing your identity in Christ. - 2 Timothy 1:7

3. Face Small Fears First (Take One Step at a Time) – "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much..." Start small—share a Bible verse or personal testimony with a friend. Wear a faith-based conversation starter (bracelet, shirt, phone case). Take one courageous step at a time-boldness grows with practice. - Luke 16:10

4. Surround Yourself with Bold Believers – "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Connect with faith-filled, bold Christians who encourage bravery. Join a Bible study or evangelism group for accountability. Share your fears with other believers and pray for each other. - Proverbs 27:17

5. Trust That Persecution is Temporary, but Jesus is Eternal – "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven." Expect opposition, but know that Jesus is worth it. When afraid, focus on eternal rewards, not temporary struggles. Be willing to stand firm even when others mock or reject your faith." - Matthew 5:11-12

6. Read more (of the bible). Pray more. Love more (of your neighbors). Serve more.

How can I share Jesus?

"Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."

- Colossians 4:5-6 (NIV)

"Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings."

- 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 (NIV)

"Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. And because of his words many more became believers. They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.”

- John 4:39-42 (NIV)

Actions You Can Take

1. To serve Jesus is to share Jesus. To persevere in Jesus is to serve Jesus. Read James chapter 1:

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,
To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations:
Greetings. Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower. For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business. Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of all he created. My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this:
Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

1. Text or say to anyone (family member, friend, neighbor, stranger, enemy, etc):

I found this website and wanted your opinion. Is it ok if I share it with you?

OR

I found this website called God Knows I Don’t. Is it ok if I share it with you?

Then, wait for an answer. if Yes, text: Here it is - GodKnowsIdont.com - let me know what you think!

Wait a couple of days then follow up with - Hey {name} I wanted to check in and see what you thought of the website I shared with you.

That's it. As believers, we must understand, we don't do the work of transformation, God does...through Jesus.

Our role is to make the introduction and be loving and supportive where possible.

Spiritual Growth is God's Timing...

"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

- Philippians 1:6 (NIV)

"In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil."

- Hebrews 5:12-14 (NIV)

Keep Going...

"Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I keep going toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

- Philippians 3:13-14
